Product description
EasyDyes fat dyes for candles, waxes
EasyDyes are concentrated fat dyes for candles, intended for colouring paraffin as well as natural and vegetable waxes, such as soy, rapeseed, and coconut wax. Thanks to their fat-soluble formula, the dyes easily combine with melted wax and allow for a wide range of shades – from delicate pastels to intense, saturated colours.
High concentration means that a small amount of product is sufficient to colour the wax. EasyDyes dyes are suitable for both the production of container candles and pillar candles made from moulds.
Characteristics:
- The dyes are available in a concentrated form as granules, flakes, and pastilles.
- The form of comminution may vary depending on the batch and does not affect the quality or properties of the dye.
- In concentrated form, the dyes have very dark, often almost black shades. Only after dissolving in wax do they achieve their target colour, so the actual shade should be assessed only after conducting a test.
- White dye acts as a wax bleach (eliminates yellow tones) – it does not impart a milky colour.
Dosing of EasyDyes fat dyes:
- 0.1% – 0.2% of wax mass → saturated colours → in some cases, up to 0.3% can be dosed
- <0.05% → very light, pastel colours
Thanks to their high concentration, the dyes are extremely efficient – even a minimal amount provides a satisfactory effect. Each dye has a different intensity, so we always recommend testing the shade on a small amount of wax and performing candle burning tests.
*1 gram of dye is enough to colour from 2 kg (pastel colours) to approximately 0.5 kg (saturated colours) of raw material.
Working temperature with dyes:
Melting temperature of dyes: 60-70°C (during wax melting).
Do not overheat above 80°C.
Overheating can negatively affect colour stability and shade. We also recommend using a UV stabiliser to extend colour lifespan.
Advantages of EasyDyes dyes:
- very easily dissolve in waxes
- very high efficiency
- intense and unusual colours
- easy dosing
- possibility to mix and combine colours
- most colours do not affect candle classification (unclassified)
- possibility to obtain shades from very light to very dark
- suitable for container and pillar candles
- depending on the type of wax and its batch, the final shade may vary
- dyes can permanently stain silicone moulds
- may cause cloudiness of paraffin gel
- safe and tested dyes from a reputable supplier
- produced in Germany
Additional information: Natural waxes come in various shades – from pure white to creamy tones, so the same dye can produce a different colour effect depending on the type of wax and its batch. The final shade of the candle is also influenced by: the amount of dye used, the presence and concentration of fragrance, and the working temperature. Additionally, it should be remembered that the amount of dye can affect the burning quality of the candle. Too high a concentration of dye can disrupt the burning process.
Always perform a colour and burning test on a small amount of wax before starting bulk production.
Orange - the threshold for the dye that will cause changes on the CLP label is 0.4% (this is not about the requirement for PCN notification, but about the fact that when more than 0.4% is used in the mixture, an additional marking will appear on the CLP label).
Green - the threshold for the dye that will cause changes on the CLP label is 0.3% (this is not about the requirement for PCN notification, but about the fact that when more than 0.3% is used in the mixture, an additional marking will appear on the CLP label).
The rest of the dye colours do not affect classification.
How to use EasyDyes dyes:
- Melt the wax to the appropriate temperature (recommended working temperatures for wax).
- Add a measured portion of dye to the wax (using a jewellery scale). If you do not know how many grams of dye to add, use our calculator.
- Mix very thoroughly until completely dissolved.
*It is best to add the dye during or immediately after melting the wax.
Note: Dye shades may vary depending on monitor settings and the type of raw material being dyed. Dyes in the packaging are in concentrated form and have a very dark shade. After adding the appropriate amount to the mass, the target colour will be obtained. Example: Cream dye in concentrated form has an orange colour; only after combining it with wax will we get a cream colour (without exceeding the recommended dosage). The illustrative photos in the small circle show the actual appearance of the dye in concentrated form. The granulation form may vary by batch. The same dye colour may appear in fine flakes, granules, and large pieces. The form of dye comminution does not affect its quality.

Product safety
Safety information: The product is intended for coloring waxes and candle making. Do not use for other applications without confirmation from the manufacturer. The product is not intended for consumption. Do not use for making cosmetics or products intended for contact with food. Avoid contact of the product with the eyes, mouth, and prolonged or intense contact with the skin. When measuring and working with the dye, it is recommended to use appropriate protective gloves, especially in the case of intense or frequent contact. The dyes are highly concentrated and may permanently stain clothing, work surfaces, equipment, and silicone molds. Exercise particular caution when working with hot wax due to the risk of burns. Do not overheat the product. Use temperatures in accordance with the instructions for the dye and the wax used. Do not eat, drink, or smoke while working with the product. Wash your hands thoroughly after finishing work. The product and its packaging are not a toy. Store in a dry place, in a tightly closed container, away from sources of heat and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children and animals. In the event of a spill, collect the product in a way that limits dust formation and follow the recommendations given in the safety data sheet.
Before using a specific color, review the current SDS safety data sheet and follow the precautions, classification, and procedures indicated in it.
The SDS documentation for the product is available for download below the product description.
