Mica pigment

Finely ground mica with a pearlescent sheen is a decorative mineral pigment designed for various DIY and craft projects. It beautifully reflects light, giving surfaces a subtle or more intense pearlescent glow – depending on the application method and the quantity used.

Mica can be used, among other things, for epoxy resin, decorating candles, wax melts, ceramics, paper, plasticine, plaster, plasters, and paints.

Mica can be used, among other things:

• for epoxy resins,
• for external candle decoration,
• for wax melts and scented tablets,
• for ceramics,
• for paper and mixed media projects,
• for plasticine,
• as an additive to plasters and gypsum,
• for compatible paints and decorative masses.

Important! Mica is not a wax dye. When producing candles, it is important to remember that mica does not dissolve in wax like a classic oil-based dye and is not intended for evenly coloring the wax mass. Its main purpose is to achieve a pearlescent or shimmering effect.

Mica is best used as:

• a delicate decoration on the candle surface,
• a dust or shimmer effect,
• decoration for wax elements,
• an additive to scented waxes and tablets, after prior testing.

An excessive amount of mica can hinder wick performance, restrict wax transport, and lead to poor candle burning.

Therefore, it should not be assumed that simply using a larger wick will solve the problem. Wick selection should be based on a candle recipe test, taking into account the type of wax, the diameter of the candle or container, the fragrance composition, the amount of mica, and other additives.

For surface-decorated candles, do not apply an excessive amount of mica directly near the wick or in the melt pool area.

The effect in the photo is shown on liquid wax. The final effect may vary depending on the raw material, monitor settings, and dosage.

The product is intended for decorative and craft purposes. Do not consume. Do not use as a cosmetic product or food additive. Avoid contact of small fragments and dust with eyes and mouth. When pouring and working with small particles, limit them from becoming airborne and do not inhale the dust. The product is not a toy. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
